Der Mühlenbach hat seinen Namen von den Mühlen in direkter Nachbarschaft, die von der Gallagher-Familie seit der Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts betrieben wurden. Es gab eine Flachsmühle mit Spinnerei, eine Kornmühle und später auch eine Sägemühle.

The River Drowes extends from Lough Melvin at Lareen to the Sea Pools near Tullaghan just outside the town of Bundoran and spans an area of about 4 1/2 miles in total. It is one of Ireland's premier Spring and Summer Salmon Fisheries and in addition holds good stocks of wild brown trout. It has accounted for the first recorded Irish Salmon of the season caught on rod and line on numerous occasions over the past 20 years.Ideally the Angler intent on Spinning, wowming or Shrimping should come equipped with a suitable spinning or worming rod about 10' to 12' in length. It should be matched to a reel loaded with line of no less than 12Lb breaking Strai and capable of launching small baits to about 40 or 50g..A net, wading gear and suitable wet weather wear are recommended and a selection of spinners to include Rappalas, Tobies, Silver and Gold Devon Minnows, spoons and Flying C's.
